The team Banking Supervision and Accounting deals with national and international banking regulation. The spectrum of content covers all current issues of banking supervision law and risk management, such as Basel IV/CRR/CRD, market, credit and liquidity risks, ICAAP/ILAAP, MaRisk and the treatment and assessment of equity instruments.
The colleagues also deal with the effects of digitalisation on supervisory law and are in close exchange with politicians and supervisory institutions such as the SSM, BaFin and the EBA.
In addition, their work focuses on accompanying legislative initiatives in the area of national and international banking supervisory law and representing their interests vis-à-vis ministries and supervisory authorities. In this context, the specialists of the banking supervision thematic group attach particular importance to the intensive support of the association's bodies and to competent support and advice for the members in the implementation of new regulatory requirements and all challenges arising in this context.
All topics and questions relating to accounting and financial reporting are also part of the team's tasks. Selected aspects of auditing are also dealt with. The interface to banking supervision is established in particular through the topics FINREP and AnaCredit.
The team analyses and comments on drafts and discussion papers of legislators and standard-setting bodies such as the IASB, the DRSC, the EU Commission and the BMJV. The team also represents the Association's positions on financial reporting issues vis-à-vis the ECB, BaFin and Bundesbank and other institutions such as the IDW.
In doing so, the specialists of the thematic group place particular emphasis on the intensive support of the association's bodies and competent support and advice for the members in the implementation of new regulatory requirements and all challenges that arise in the process.
