Retail and Consumer Protection

The team deals with retail banking, legal consumer protection and consumer policy.

The thematic group Retail and Consumer Protection of the banking association works with an interdisciplinary team primarily on issues relating to business with private customers. The main topics include old-age provision, digital sales, retail banking, consumer protection, consumer policy and securities sales.

In the area of conflict between consumer policy and the interests of our member banks, we develop positions on current topics and represent them vis-à-vis legislative bodies, supervisory authorities and the public in Germany and Europe. In addition, we support our member institutions in the implementation of legal requirements.
