The Risk, Operations and Investments (TG ROI) thematic group is part of the Banking Supervision and Deposit Insurance Division. It ensures the economic and operational functioning of the statutory deposit guarantee scheme (EdB) and the voluntary deposit guarantee fund (ESF).
The employees of the TG ROI are responsible for ordering and conducting examinations of the CRR credit institutions assigned to EdB in accordance with the Deposit Guarantee Act and, in cooperation with the Auditing Association of German Banks (Prüfungsverband deutscher Banken e.V.), monitor the potential risk of the occurrence of a compensation case of member institutions. The employees are the contact persons for questions from institutions regarding participation in the ESF and membership in the EdB. They ensure the financing and liquidity for the implementation of compensation by collecting contributions or levies and managing the investment of funds. The thematic group keeps records and reports to the responsible bodies and authorities.
