The German Banking Industry Committee (GBIC) comments on the EU Commissions consultation paper on the White Paper on artificial intelligence. The GBIC answers questions of the EU Commission on selected contents of the AI White Paper. The German banking industry welcomes the Commissions considerations on a European AI concept. From GBICs point of view, new legal and regulatory AI frameworks must remain proportionate and must not lead to over-regulation. A risk-based approach is generally considered appropriate.
