EBI and the industry initiative BdB/TSI, under the distinguished patronage of Dr. Bettina Orlopp, CEO Commerzbank AG, will engage with leading experts from the financial industry to explore the European Commission’s securitisation proposal and examine their implications in the context of the Savings and Investment Union. The European Commission’s proposal on securitisation is expected to reinvigorate the European securitisation market and to influence both the integration and efficiency of capital markets. Is the proposal suitable for achieving these objectives? Do they contribute to companies' ability to innovate and can they facilitate transition financing?

Achieving deeper and more efficient European financial markets requires the effective interplay of different funding instruments. Equity financing and securitisation both have the potential to drive integration, improve capital allocation, and foster cross-border investment. This discussion examines the role securitisation can play in supporting sustainable investment without compromising financial stability.
