According to our Articles of Association, the Members’ Assembly, Delegates’ Assembly, Board of Directors and Executive Board are our most important committees.

The Members’ Assembly is the supreme governing body of the association. They meet every three years and elect the members of the Delegates’ Assembly. They also make decisions about admitting or excluding member associations, excluding members or dissolving the association altogether.

The Delegates’ Assembly is made up of the delegates elected by the Members’ Assembly   and the chairs of the member associations. They meet every year. Their tasks include electing the Board of Directors and the members of the working committees as well as passing resolutions on amendments to the articles of association. They are also responsible for approving the annual accounts and setting the membership fees.

The Board of Directors is elected by the members of the Delegates’ Assembly from its midst. The Board is made up of one member of the management boards of each of the big banks, five members of the management boards of regional banks and foreign banks and two members of the management boards of private bankers. The Chief Executive of the Association of German Banks is also a member of the Board of Directors.

The Presidency is made up of the honorary President and two other members of the Board of Directors. These three individuals are elected from the midst of the Board of Directors. The Presidency comprises one representative each of the big banks, regional banks and private bankers.
