Heiner Herkenhoff
Chief Executive Officer, Association of German Banks
Heiner Herkenhoff has been Chief Executive Officer of the German Bankers Association since April 2023. Herkenhoff was previously Head of Public Affairs at Commerzbank since 2009. Before that, he was Head of Communications at the Bankenverband for nine years.
On taking office, Heiner Herkenhoff said: “he Banking Association can support the banks in making their indispensable contribution to the energy transition and digitalization. This is best achieved if the regulatory framework conditions are set correctly. This is exactly what the Bankers Association is committed to.”
