The reform of private pension provision – how can it be made a success?

The discussion was moderated by Sarah Schmidtke from the German Banking Association and featured Ramona Pop, Chairwoman of the German Federal Consumer Association, Carsten Brodesser, Member of the German Bundestag and pension expert for the CDU/CSU parliamentary group, and Lars Stoy, CEO of ING Germany and spokesperson for pension provision on the board of the German Banking Association.

Subsidized private pension provision is currently a topic of concern for many people, especially young people. How should it be structured so that it is used by the entire population as an integral part of retirement provision? How can reservations be overcome and the entry point made as attractive as possible?

With the Pension Reform Act and the key points on early retirement pensions, the Federal Cabinet launched important proposals at the end of last year. Will this ensure that the return opportunities offered by the capital market are sufficiently exploited for everyone to secure their standard of living in old age in the long term?
