Deposit protection
Germany has access to one of the world’s strongest Deposit Guarantee Systems. This means that in Germany, in the unlikely event that a bank fails, its clients are comprehensively protected by a combination of statutory and voluntary deposit guarantee schemes. The statutory deposit guarantee scheme offers protection of up to 100,000 euros per depositor and bank. In addition, many banks are members of voluntary deposit guarantee systems, which offer even more protection.
